From October 19-25, 2025, our team had the extraordinary privilege of representing Lawyers Hand Africa at the Federation of African Law Students (FALAS) Annual Conference, held at the iconic African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

A Gathering of Africa's Legal Minds

FALAS 2025 brought together over 1,000 delegates from 54 African nations, making it the continent's largest annual gathering of law students, young legal professionals, and advocates for justice. The week-long conference was a powerful reminder of the collective strength and vision of Africa's next generation of legal leaders.

"Being at FALAS 2025 was more than attending a conference—it was witnessing the birth of Pan-African legal solidarity. We saw firsthand that the challenges we face in Uganda are shared across the continent, and so too are the solutions we must build together."

— Conley Mugabi, Director, Lawyers Hand Africa

Key Themes & Learnings

The conference addressed critical issues at the intersection of law, justice, and development:
